My Hero Academia has some heroes with incredible abilities, and moving at fantastically high speeds is just one such power that a Quirk can grant. But who among My Hero Academia's heroes is the fastest of them all? With a lack of hard numbers available, it's hard to say, but by comparing the feats of some of the fastest heroes, like Iida, All Might, and Deku, an answer just might come to light.

The world of My Hero Academia doesn't have too many speedsters, unlike its Western superhero counterparts. Tenya Iida, AKA Ingenium, is essentially the only character who would fall into that category, and he does boast some extremely impressive speed. However, All Might was known to move from city to city with incredible speed in his heyday, and Deku has proven to be no slouch when it comes to using One for All's power to accelerate rapidly.

So, how can it best be decided which of these three heroes is the absolute fastest?

While All Might in My Hero Academia is suffering from some major injuries which keep him from operating at peak performance, the prequel manga My Hero Academia Vigilantes proves that All Might was unbelievably fast when he was in better health (though still injured). In chapter 54, All Might gets from Might Tower to Naruhata in mere seconds, traversing several kilometers in that time frame. In chapter 123, All Might is shown to move so fast that it appears as if there are multiple All Mights running around due to afterimages.

Even in My Hero Academia proper, All Might is an exceptionally fast hero, despite his injuries. In the USJ incident of the main manga, All Might moves from the doorway of the building to the villains and incapacitates them faster than you can blink. During the Hideout Raid arc, All Might was able to get from the hideout to All for One's location in less than a minute, so fast that the villains had barely finished teleporting when he arrived. All Might's innate skill at using One for All to augment his body allowed him to achieve some truly amazing speed.

Deku Managed to Outrun a Speeding Bullet

Deku, for his part, moves mostly at speeds that, while impressive, don't really stand out at first glance. However, one of Deku's greatest feats of speed occurs during the Dark Hero arc. Witnessing Lady Nagant shift her target from himself to the unarmed Kai Chisaki (Overhaul), Deku manages to combine the power of One for All at 45% with Fa Jin to move at speeds that allowed him to outrace Nagant's bullets, saving Chisaki's life. Once Deku figured this out, he was able to dodge further shots from her, although he admits this feat was one most famously performed by All Might.

From this point on, Deku's speed is much greater, allowing him to move and dodge with relative ease. When using 100% of One for All's power with Eri's help, Deku was able to outmaneuver Overhaul repeatedly, allowing him to create afterimages much like All Might did. One of Deku's greatest assets is his agility, which allows him to move around obstacles even at incredibly high speeds. This was in part thanks to Danger Sense, which would allow him to react faster than most due to the forewarning it provided him.

Tenya Iida's Raw Speed Feats Are Second to None

Iida's Speed is Unmatched When It Comes to Endurance

With engines embedded in his legs, Tenya Iida's Quirk allows him to move at a blisteringly fast pace. Even in just the relatively short timeframe over which the story takes place, Iida has improved dramatically, undergoing a radical process which replaced Iida's mufflers with more powerful versions and enhancing his speed further. Iida was said at one point to be even faster than All Might's mentor Gran Torino, who can bounce from place to place at speeds that are faster than the eye can follow.

With his ultimate move, Recipro Turbo, Iida can surpass his limits for up to 10 minutes, going even faster than previously was possible. Iida famously used this to catch up with Deku during the Dark Hero arc, grabbing his friend's hand as he passed by to reassure him that he wasn't alone. In the manga, Iida even manages to top this with his "maximum speed", giving him a solid claim to being the fastest hero in the world. Using maximum speed, Iida was able to help Shoto Todoroki travel all the way from Kamino to Gunga (from Yokohama to Kyoto, over 430km) in less than 10 minutes--more than twice the speed of sound.

Who is My Hero Academia's Fastest Hero?

The Circ*mstances May Dictate Who's Fastest

It's definitely a difficult call as to who's the absolute fastest of these heroes. While All Might and Deku can reach insanely high top speeds, Deku at least isn't able to maintain these speeds very long. Deku also needs some preparation to achieve his top speed, as Fa Jin requires repeated movements in order to fully reach its potential. In a footrace between the three characters, Iida would likely win due to his stamina, the nature of his Quirk and how good it is on flat land. Iida lacks maneuverability, however, which is Deku's specialty and something that All Might himself was quite skilled at.

In practice, All Might in his prime is likely the fastest of these three, able to launch himself forward with such force and precision that he can resolve incidents in mere seconds. No villain has ever been able to stand up to All Might's power and speed, with the notable exception of All for One, who has never really shown off any speed-enhancing Quirks. All Might's stamina (at least prior to his injuries) is also incredibly high, allowing him to move from incident to incident at a blinding pace, even as he quickly disarms thugs and leaves them incapacitated for the police.

While All Might may come out on top in a practical situation, all three of My Hero Academia's fastest heroes are capable of some truly insane feats of speed that make them worthy of respect.
